Face #8- Baby Frida

Face #8; Baby Frida Acrylic Paint on 6"x9" Watercolor Paper

Acrylics on 6"x9" Watercolor paper

*Face #8, "Baby Frida",  is now available in my Etsy Shop as a Print or Postcard.

My baby Frida, was inspired through an online workshop I took last year with the ever endearing Mindy Lacefield.

Mindy
& Frida are such a tremendous inspiration to me and I can hardly wait for Mindy's new Frida Workshop which is starting on March 19, 2017.  Maybe you can join me!

But even with all that wonderful inspiration and instruction, sometimes I still just can't figure out where to go next in a painting, or am paralyzed with the fear of ruining yet another piece in progress, so it sits and waits. I have entirely too many unfinished paintings sitting around here... poor little Frida has been waiting for me for almost a year!

To avoid the paralyzing fear that keeps so many of my paintings this way, I decided to play with her in Photoshop to see if it might help figure out where to go next.

Why didn't I do this sooner? What a great way to move forward without the worry of destroying my progress so far or guilt about wasting supplies!

The painting may not turn out exactly the same in the end, but that's ok, I figure it's a place to build my courage while figuring which way to go until my instincts are stronger...hey and no messy clean up for once, lol.

Spread the love
